DEMEX was engaged as a subcontractor to support delivery of the Fitzroy Intake and Pipeline Project, a major water infrastructure initiative spanning 116 kilometres through Central Queensland’s Gladstone and Rockhampton regions. Working within a complex river environment, the project required specialist demolition methodologies, controlled execution and strong environmental management to safely progress intake modification works.
The scope involved structural demolition and modification of the existing intake infrastructure, including removal of intake wall components and precision works within a live river system. Delivery required engineered demolition methodologies, vibration control measures and staged execution to maintain environmental compliance.
• Successful demolition of intake structures previously considered unachievable by conventional methods
• Zero environmental breaches and full compliance with environmental licence requirements
• No recorded incidents or accidents throughout delivery
• Precision execution within a live river environment using specialised equipment and methodologies
• Demonstrated capability to deliver high-risk infrastructure works where structural accuracy and controlled outcomes were critical
