DEMEX was engaged as the demolition contractor for the Ballina High School Redevelopment Project. The project which was conducted during school holiday period, involved demolition of a large school block to allow major redevelopment works to be completed at the school.
Prior to commencement of the demolition works, an extensive HAZMAT removal program was conducted. This included the removal of blackjack vinyl adhesive, window mastics, and PCBs.
Following detailed planning and engineering, the separation was achieved by manually dismantling at the separation point before mechanically demolishing in a controlled manner up to the separation point, leaving the separated structure unimpacted.
