DEMEX was engaged to complete the internal and external demolition and civil works to three buildings at South Mackay Catholic College, one of which had heritage significance.
Part of the project works included the removal of asbestos material from the heritage listed building which was to remain on the site.
Further internal soft strip works were carried out to the other buildings and internal mechanical demolition works including removal of structural walls etc.
The Project involved extensive civil works including a large portion of contaminated soil remediation, bitumen profiling, bulk earth works, compact and fill works, building pad installation, carpark works which included curbing, bitumen laying and line marking, excavation of retention basins, internal road networks and oval prep works.
The project was delivered safety without incident and within the proposed timeline.
