DEMEX was engaged to conduct the complete and partial demolition of 11 major bridges passing over the Logan Motorway and Gateway Motorway in Logan QLD. The project also involved the removal of multiple extensive sections of concrete road barriers.
Multiple demolition techniques were used with the methodology based on the construction design of the bridges and restrictions with access. Mechanical demolition included deploying our fleet of specialised demolition excavators, while mechanical deconstruction was performed using a variety of cranes including 250 tonne mobile cranes.
Due to client requirements to maintain constant live traffic, demolition works were conducted on 70 – 100 hour continuous demolition programs which included night demolition works adjacent to live motorway traffic.
