DEMEX was engaged as the principal contractor for demolition of the seven storey Pacific Tower Building located in the heart of the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise, Queensland. Demolition of the existing high-rise made way for the $111 million beachfront Northcliffe Residences.
As the building was located in close proximity to neighbouring buildings, rated demolition scaffolding was installed on three sides of the structure to eliminate the movement of demolition waste outside of the work zone. Engineered propping and bracing was also used to maintain structural integrity during the demolition.
The project was delivered ahead of schedule and obtained the recycling target of 90%.
